About

Welcome to WritingIsTheMovement; thanks for reading. This blog was started by me (Doug), an avid reader and writer, writing tutor/mentor, and administrator at http://www.youngwritersproject.org. I am almost constantly surrounded by the writing of young, aspiring minds. This experience is, in turn, inspiring, provocative, hilarious, and heartbreaking. I started this blog with the idea that I would provide some of my personal favorite writing that I come across with another unique platform from which to be displayed, while at the same time posting encouragement and food for thought. I hope that you all enjoy what you read, especially what I borrow from our YoungWriters. (Which will always be displayed with only their public youngwritersproject username to identify the author, unless I’m otherwise permitted) I also manage the YWP Facebook and Twitter (@ywpvt) accounts, if you want to keep up with our organization and enjoy more great literary material. Thank you and Keep Writing!

Just dropping in to check out another writing site, and this one really appealed to me. Simple yet informative, I really like it. It;s useful with many good intentions. I got here by your comment on one of my pieces, “The Leaving” on YWP. Thank you for the link directing me here. I find the “Writing Tips” section incredibly useful, and some of it funny πŸ™‚ Just wanted to leave a “thank-you” πŸ™‚
